Some of the best ideas for improving CiviCRM don't start with a new feature. They start with a real problem an organisation is trying to solve.
That's one of the reasons we're heading to Paris for CiviConf & CiviSprint 2026, from 5 - 9 October.
We'll be joining CiviCRM users, developers, implementers and organisations from across Europe and beyond to share what we're learning from real projects and to hear how others are approaching some of the same challenges.
The questions we're taking with us
Working with associations, charities and membership organisations gives us a good view of where priorities are changing.
How can AI be useful without compromising sensitive data? How can organisations get more useful insight from the information they already hold? How can membership, fundraising and communications become more joined-up without creating increasingly complicated systems?
These are practical questions our clients are already asking.
They are also closely reflected in this year's CiviConf programme, with sessions covering areas including digital sovereignty, membership, fundraising and real-world uses of CiviCRM.
For us, that's where being part of the wider CiviCRM community becomes particularly valuable.
Sharing solutions, not reinventing them
Open source gives organisations a different way of developing technology.
If one organisation has a problem, there's a good chance somebody elsewhere in the CiviCRM community has encountered something similar. Bringing developers, users and implementers together means those experiences can be shared and solutions can go on to benefit far more than one organisation.
We'll be sharing what we've learned from our own work, comparing approaches with other CiviCRM specialists and looking closely at developments that could make a practical difference to our clients.
The training and Sprint also give our team time to work alongside other contributors on CiviCRM itself.
What does that mean for our clients?
It means we're not working with CiviCRM in isolation.
We can bring back new approaches, discover useful extensions and features earlier, learn from projects happening elsewhere in the sector and contribute our own experience to improving the platform.
Not every new idea will be right for every organisation. Part of our role is working out what is genuinely useful, what is ready to use and where a new development could help you work more efficiently or get more from your data.
We've worked with CiviCRM since 2005 and, as a CiviCRM Gold Partner and active contributor, being involved in its community remains an important part of how we keep that knowledge current.
