Bristol CiviCRM User Group Meet Up, Report

Yesterday was the last UK CiviCRM user group meet up of 2011, held in the Create Centre Bristol.

Users expressed their gratification in using the software and of the responsive community.

A few simple tips were shared, these included;

A CiviCRM user group meet is planned on Thursday 8th December 2011, at the Create Centre, Bristol.

This meeting will have a relaxed agenda and all contributions will be welcomed whether you're an admin user, consultant, developersor an individual looking into CRM options.  Further details can be found here.

 

Using CiviCRM? How much would recurring events aid your organisation?

A recent blog on civicrm.org, from LindseyM, is appealing for users to contribute towards the seed funding of a 'Make it Happen' iniative.

Make it Happen! enables users of civicrm to contribute to specific projects, a key driver behind improving and adding to features of the software. For a proposed feature to become a Make it Happen! initative, seed funding of a third of the overall cost of the project must first be secured.

CiviCon 2011

The purpose of the conference was a meeting of CiviCRM users, implementers and developers to share knowledge, experience and to discuss the future of the project and also to foster the all important community spirit which is at the core of the CiviCRM project. With attendees from five continents, it was very much an international affair.

CiviCRM 3.4.2 & 4.0.2 Released

 

More bug fixes for the most recent version of CiviCRM have been released in these new versions within less than a month of the last release, which is a testament to the CiviCRM Community.

New features and improvements include:

  • Ability to REVERT changes to contact data

CiviCRM 4.0 and 3.4 Stable are Released

After a few months of final development, 3.4 and 4.0 are released simultaneously.

New features include:

  • Ability to REVERT changes to contact data
  • Improvements to extensions mechanism (ability to download extensions automatically)
  • A new improved api
