Catch All Facility For Circlemail
Catch All - Email
The Catch-all facility for email refers to a mailbox on a domain that will "catch all" of the emails addressed to the domain that do not exist in the mail server.
For example: if johndoe@circle-interactive.co.uk is configured to be the catch-all email address on circle-interactive.co.uk, then any email sent to an undefined @circle-interactive.co.uk email address will be forwarded to johndoe@circle-interactive.co.uk instead of being rejected as an Undeliverable message or Unknown User error.
Catch-all addresses are however, commonly refered to as spam magnets. Configuring your mail account in this way will result in the arrival of indiscriminately sent, unsolicited bulk messages to your inbox.
As such, it is good practice to avoid Catch-all addresses and we strongly discourage their use.
